Terms worth knowing
before you build.
New construction arrives with its own vocabulary, and I walk every client through it as we go along. These are the few worth knowing before you start.
Rough-in
The walk-through I tell every buyer not to skip, because the plumbing and electrical are in while the walls are still open. It is the cheapest moment there is to catch a problem.
HOA covenant
Worth reading before you fall in love with a lot, because it is the neighborhood's rulebook on paint colors, fence height and what is allowed to sit in your driveway.
Punch list
The small things we fix before closing, like a chipped baseboard or a door that sticks. Every build has one, so it is not a sign that anything has gone wrong.
There are plenty more where those came from, and I will keep adding them.
The Arrive Way
